Our Mission
To provide worry free IT asset recycling services, whilst creating a work opportunity for the community.
Countless computers are being disposed of in landfil. Secure Computer Recycling was set up to tackle the problem of e-waste, whilst also giving businesses and individuals the peace of mind that their data was completly destroyed.
Looking after the environment is everyone's business, data security is our business.
Our Founder -
Davide Defendi
Davide started his career as a software engineer graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. While he found programming initially rewarding, it wasn’t long before Davide was thirsting for other challenges. Davide was promoted into a consulting and project management role early in his career where he was able to apply his technical knowledge to successfully manage and complete projects with high technical risk. Davide continued working in the industry and was involved in a vast range of IT projects for companies including IBM, Mercantile Mutual (now ING) and Chevron.
The son of an entrepreneur, it was only a matter of time before Davide decided it was time to go out on his own. On the 13th of May 2000, “Kuban Empire” was born. Kuban Empire, an integrated communication and development agency had explosive growth and was a fantastic success. With an international client list and a growing reputation it was sold in 2003 to a national management consulting group wishing to bring development capabilities to their organisation. Davide continued working with the group for a nine month handover period before leaving for Italy to pursue other business opportunities.
Davide joined mig33 in June 2005. His diverse experience along with his flexible and adaptive nature brought a good balance to the team and allowed him to bridge between all aspects of the business. As general manager and COO he coordinated and assisted on all aspects of the business ensuring smooth business operation and continuity.
It was at mig33 that Davide, when confronted with the task of throwing away the old IT equipment, decided that it was time to do something about the growing problem of e-waste.
"For me this business is about saving our environment, data security and giving something back to the community."
Davide now works actively in all aspects of the business.
